The encoders in the following two lists have been tested by Microsoft for live streaming with Microsoft Stream. We recommend you select and set up an encoder well before you begin your live event.

To start using the newer video solution today, just upload your videos to SharePoint, Teams, Yammer, or OneDrive. The following information is about Microsoft Stream (Classic) which will eventually be retired and replaced by Stream (on SharePoint).
